For Parents

Parenting is a challenging job. And one of the biggest concerns for parents is knowing how to talk with their children about drugs and alcohol. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reminds parents that it’s never too early to talk to your kids about the dangers of underage drinking. They found that parents have a significant influence on whether their kids drink. SAMHSA has even created an app to help parents practice talking with their children.  The Talk. They Hear You website allows parents and caregivers of children ages 9-15 the opportunity to practice their conversations with their children.
